SCARIFYING

Scarifying is the mechanical removal of thatch from the turf surface. It is a cultural method used to improve turf appearance, increase its health and fertility. Scarifying has been used extensively throughout the sports turf industry to maintain play quality, & reduce disease occurrence.

But what is Thatch you say? Thatch is the natural layer of organic matter that forms in the top layer of the turf surface (also called the mat.) If the mat & thatch gets too thick it prevents important nutrients from getting to the root system, which causes a spongy underfoot feel and creates a home for disease.

COMMERCIAL SCARIFYING

Scarifying is primary used on but not exclusive to Bowling Greens, Golf Courses, Croquet Courts, Cricket Wickets, Tennis Courts, and many other sports complexes where high maintenance standards are required by the teams or clubs using these facilities.

BENEFITS OF SCARIFYING

The use of scarifiers can help improve your sports ground's quality and appearance by increasing drainage, reducing disease occurrence, & encouraging new leaf and shoots.

Scarifying has remarkable improvements on ball roll by increasing a lawn bowls draw or making the perfect putt, scarifying can enhance many sports surfaces or lawn.
